Caffeine poster facts

In our own words ...

1. Consuming caffeine even 6 hours before sleep can reduce your total sleep time. This is because caffeine is a type of drug known as a "stimulant", which promote alertness.

(Lets the reader know from the start what caffeine actually is, with just enough detail to give extra interest without getting too complicated)

2.  It occurs naturally in over 60 plants, many of which we derive some of our common foodstuffs from. These include coffee, tea, chocolate, energy drinks and some soft drinks.

(Mentioning products students would consume makes it more direct. These products also feature in the imagery. Gives scale)

3. Caffeine has a half-life of 3 to 5 hours. The half-life is the time it takes for your body to eliminate half of the drug. This means its effects can linger for 8 to 14 hours after consuming it.

(Unusual fact. Introduces a potentially tricky concept, but explains it well, though the first half is not in our own words)
